Fans & climate-fit cooling
For a bedroom, rental or home office. Decide whether you need personal cooling or a reduction in room temperature, then check the conditions where you actually live.
Check before buying
- A portable air conditioner and an evaporative cooler are different appliances; inspect the cooling method before comparing prices.
- Compare noise information, controls and the space required around the device.
- Use your own electricity tariff in AUD and model-specific input power to estimate costs; retailer claims are not your bill.

Compare fans on Amazon.com.auWindow kits & flyscreen fit
For sliding, awning and casement windows. A cooling appliance that looks right on paper still needs an installation that works with the opening, screen and hose connection.
Check before buying
- Identify how the sash opens; measure the opening, not just the outside frame.
- Photograph the flyscreen, handles and hinges so you can compare them with kit drawings.
- Check the actual hose connector and supported kit dimensions. A similar diameter alone does not establish compatibility.

Compare window kits on Amazon.com.auShade & everyday airflow
For sun-exposed rooms and warmer evenings. Look at when direct sun reaches the glass and what can be changed before adding another powered appliance.
Check before buying
- Map which window gets direct sun at the time you use the room.
- Check the fixing surface, dimensions and manufacturer's wind limitations for any external shade.
- For a rental, check required permission before permanent fixings. Keep exits and existing ventilation usable.
